Where to Stay in Clarksville: Riverview Inn Hotel Review

Alright guys. As you know, I’ve ventured over to Clarksville twice in the past few months in an effort to explore more of Middle Tennessee. My first trip was a quick day trip, taking advantage of nice weather to stroll around downtown. My second trip was basically a food adventure, where Michelle and I made our best attempt to eat our way through Clarksville. If you all followed my story on Instagram, you’d know it was a struggle! There was so much good food to be eaten! Fortunately, we were able to make this trip an overnight trip, so I also got to stay in a hotel right in Downtown Clarksville: Riverview Inn. Naturally, I’m going to share my thoughts with you all.

Riverview Inn is kind of a surprise. I’m going to admit, it’s definitely nothing exciting to look at on the outside; it looks outdated and plain. The surprise came when I walked inside. The lobby smelled wonderful, clean and welcoming. Because it was December, there was a beautiful Christmas tree and lots of festive decorations in the lobby. Lots of charm here!

OH! One thing I should mention. I used to work at a very large, famous hotel in Miami Beach. In VIP services. I had to walk rooms and inspect them after housekeeping had cleaned to give our stamp of approval before we would allow the guests to check in. By the way, when I say guests, I mean Paris Hilton, Ryan Seacrest, Lana Del Ray, Floyd Mayweather, J.Lo, Ariana Grande, Lauren Graham and many more. [YES. I’ve met Lorelai Gilmore. I was trembling from nerves and she was an absolute treasure…maybe more on that later.]

Sorry, nostalgia got to me there for a moment. The point is I specialized in hotels for a decent chunk of my life, so when I’m in one, I notice things. I don’t stay in hotels very often (for now!) but when I do, I’m a meticulously observant guest. Even the smallest inn in the smallest town can offer a great experience if they’re doing things right. Riverview Inn did just that.

Walking in to the hotel, you walk right into the lobby seating area, which was clean, organized and festive. There was lots of signage going on, because the hotel was hosting two corporate holiday parties and a sweet sixteen. It was pretty busy for a random Saturday! Despite all that, the check in experience was great: quick, easy, helpful. The elevator was clean, the hallways were clean (albeit poorly lit) and didn’t have that funky hallway smell you sometimes find in older hotels.

I stayed in a king size room with a view to the Cumberland. It was really spacious – plenty of room for activities! – and included a desk and lounge chair. This would’ve been perfect for business trip or weekend with friends. Unfortunately, I checked in at night and the hotel’s lighting was a little yellow, so my pictures were terrible and I’m left with this one.

I wanted to tour the suites, but all were booked! I’m telling you, it was a busy night! Riverview Inn was kind enough to lend me these photos of one of their suites to share with you.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spotless, smelled nice and the bed was comfy. And there were five pillows! It was glorious. Our morning involved trying breakfast at a local restaurant, so I didn’t get to sample the hotel’s offerings, but there’s always next time!

I have stayed here 3 times, Always top notch! Our last stay there was this past August for the Eclipse. This trip we brought our yellow Labrador along, as I knew they were pet friendly. To my amazement, they put us in a suite. It was so nice! Riverview Inn is the only place I will stay at in Clarksville area. 😊
